Sermon Notes : When Jesus is Your Jury
  • I call God and He answers!
  • God can use you how he wants to. 
  • To discern that voice and then do what it says. 
  • 1 Corinthians 4:1-5
  • Speak Lord, your servant is listening. 
  • There are some mysteries god has no revealed we are not responsible for those but we are entrusted with the ones that god has revealed. 
  • Faithful
  • There are internal verdicts happening in mind and heart everyday about yourself, others and your life. 
  • Fresh & messy vs. moldy with no meaning. 
  • There is a pressure that comes with blessing that you need to learn to manage. 
  • Winning but weary. 
  • Are you trying to be impressive or a blessing?
  • I gotta work on me. 
  • You gotta know your job, and also your jury. 
  • Who is your jury?
  • When people judge they do it in the surface and they do it as a summary 
  • Don’t compare who you are with who others pretend to be. 
  • Who are you doing it for?
  • Praise
  • Patience
  • Power
  • Whose praise you crave the most tells a lot about what you are chained to. 
  • God didn’t call you to convince the jury he called you to please him. 
  • What would it improve you if they did approve of you?
  • Can’t be controlled by a jury when god has given you a job. 
  • The praise that comes from God. 
  • Stop performing for people that don’t hold your prize. 
  • How can you commit to the praises of god if you are addicted to the praise of people?
  • When you are a servant to gods purpose you won’t be a slave to people’s praise. 
  • You’ll be a casualty of their criticism. 
  • The danger lies in the praise from people. 
  • Do you know the difference between the claps of the crowd vs the voice of God. 
  • People don’t know what God gave you. 
  • You are not responsible for the outcome but consistency. 
  • My eternal verdict hinges on my relationship with Jesus. 
  • We have to trust god timing even when we don’t hear him talking. 
  • Some of the greatest fruit from your life will come out the greatest failures. 
  • Distracted because we judge things we don’t expect. 
  • Distractions vs. demonstration. 
  • God tells us before what we are there for. 
  • Stop judging stuff that god is not done with yet. 
  • Not a weakness but a weapon. 
  • Are you hearing this through the filter of guilt?
  • We know too much about ourselves to let a compliment in. 
  • John 8:1-11
  • From Jesus at the center to sin at the center. 
  • Don’t ask Jesus if you don’t want to know. 
  • Don’t trap the answer with your questions. 
  • Stoops before he speaks. 
  • None of us wants Jesus to start bringing for the evidence of our thoughts and struggles. 
  • The Holy Spirit is not an accuser but an advocate.
  • The power to change belongs to god. 
  • He’s such a savior. 
  • Whose voice is that?
  • Your job is not to be Jesus but to trust him. 
  • Shame can’t lift you out of your sin, and grace will not leave you in it.
