Sermon Notes : Take Your Notes on the Boat
  • Mark 4:33-41
  • There’s a difference between a description and an experience.
  • It can get lost in translation.
  • The disciples vs the crowds.
  • Sometimes God gives you something valuable but it doesn’t go deep enough to make a difference in your life.
  • I’ve got to let this go.
  • Declaration vs explanation.
  • God wants to say something to you personally.
  • It can be personal and powerful but can’t be either if you don’t process it.
  • Small but significant.
  • Depth of the word.
  • Mark 4:1
  • Sometimes when God is speaking to you you don’t even have to know what it means to know that it hits you deep.
  • Gods voice is an investment into you.
  • Jesus teaches deep but He doesn’t always give details.
  • Sometimes God gives us something and it puts us into a storm that we didn’t see coming.
  • Find Jesus in your storm.
  • If God told you to go to the other side no storm will be able to stop you.
  • Jesus has been speaking to you.
  • You’ve got the word you need for the wind that you didn’t know you were going to face.
  • Uniquely qualified.
  • Take what you heard on the shore and apply it in the storm.
  • Don’t just like it, live it!
  • Fear starts shouting crazy things to you when you start taking on water.
  • Not under but over.
  • He said something.
  • The word is greater than the water.
  • There’s things God can only teach in the storm. What does he want you to learn?
  • The wind is a gift.
  • The wind is where God starts teaching you the greatest lessons.
  • Faith grows when you take your notes and apply them against the wind.
  • God can speak at any time and the wind will hush.
  • If you feel like God’s not speaking to you, He may be speaking to the storm instead.
  • You’ve got a God who speaks storm.
  • But we can’t know that unless He sends us into a storm.
  • Jesus doesn’t talk about destinations He doesn’t deliver you to.
  • Mark 5:1-2
  • Let God handle the part that you can’t handle.
