Hey friends! What’s for dinner?

In my house, I made some classic Cracker Barrel recipes. Meatloaf, dumplings, and green beans.

One thing about me, is I love to cook for my husband. He is so appreciative of a good meal (it’s also a joy to love him).

I know a meal is a hit when my kids say that they wouldn’t mind if I made it again, and that’s what this one is!

Another thing about me, I won’t tell you my variations on a recipe are better unless I follow the original one first. My suggestions are below, feel free to not use them.

I used this recipe for the meatloaf. Following the recipe as/is the first night, it was fairly bland. The second night I added more salt, some worchestershire sauce, and a couple garlic cloves to the onion/pepper mixture. I feel like those additions added a depth of flavor that was missing the first night.

I used this recipe for the dumplings, and it is perfect. Just make sure that you keep simmering them until the sauce fully thickens.

This is the recipe I used for the green beans, and I loved them. In the interest of full disclosure, I like it when my vegetables are cooked to the point where you barely need to chew them, and that’s what happens with these beans after 45 minutes. They are delicious.

I can’t say that any of these recipes are exact dupes, but when my family is craving a night out and my budget says no way, these are a couple of recipes that I know I can go back to again and again.

Making these recipes would not be as breezy without the help of my Ninja NeverStick pans – (affiliate link) if you need a great pan recommendation, this is mine. I will only buy this brand in the future.
