Hi beautiful friends! Come spend the day with me.
Picture it : it’s April 22, 2026.

My first step is always a double shot of espresso. Our frenchie eats her breakfast, and then promptly goes back to sleep.
My oldest was off work today due to an appointment, so my only chore for the morning was grocery shopping.

Picture me standing here trying to figure out how I spent so much money on so little. ðŸ˜
Aldi, Walmart and Sam’s Club were my stops for the day. This day shopping took me about 2 hours.
I’m trying my hand at a new to me sourdough recipe, so I prepped the dough for that.

Then I had to take my kid to the oral surgeon for a consultation for a future surgery. It went well, but I do wish that teeth weren’t considered luxury items in this country. The out of pocket to get everything done is nausea inducing. Our dental insurance will pay us back for a little bit, but we are required to pay for the whole shebang up front. barf
We arrived at home, and I was able to get some reading time in before I needed to start making dinner. My current read is Sleeping Beauties by Stephen and Owen King.

You’re all new here, I’m reading through all of Stephen King’s novels/short story collections in publication order. After I finish that list, I’ve got a whole list of the books on my shelf that I plan to read in a specific order. The bulk of these are re-reads, and I’ll show them all off as I get to them.
I’m also on a side quest to obtain all of my shelved books on the kindle as well. Yes, it’s over consumption, but it’d be nice to be able to bring all my books with me wherever I go.
When we moved last Summer, I got rid of most of my books simply because I had no where to put them. I have a shelf in my bedroom, but I didn’t want to keep boxes and boxes of books in our garage. So I downsized…a lot.
I let go of books I knew I would never read again, because for me, re-reading is the most fun part. So here we are. That was long winded. Time to get back on track.
Dinner was Chicken Caesar Smash burgers, the recipe inspired by Moribyan. And OMG, they were so good. My picture is atrocious, but let me tell you the burger was incredible. I’m making the same thing again tonight.

After dinner, my husband and I took a walk around the neighborhood, which is a way that we like to spend time alone together. It gets us fresh air, a little exercise and some quality time. Tends to be my favorite part of the day.
Then it was time to clean and close the kitchen for the night. The bulk fermentation of my sourdough was complete so I popped her in the fridge too to bake tomorrow.
Finished the night doom scrolling on Threads, and watching the Cubs game. I’m hopeful that in dedicating more time to this blog it’ll kill the desire to be on my phone all the time. We’ll see how that works out.
I hope you had a fantastic day! Goodnight friend.
