We are settling in…

We’ve been in the house for a few weeks now, and I love it! It’s such a cozy and welcoming place to be. It was so easy to feel at home here. Granted, there are a few times it feels weird for seemingly no reason, but for the most part, it’s been really great.

Homeschooling has been going really wonderfully. The girls love it and seem very eager to learn. I’m very happy with our choice to do it so far.

We’ve had 2 annoying things happen with the house so far.

One is that water was backing up in the basement. When we got the original inspection report we were told that the dishwasher didn’t work. It actually does, but causes a leak in the basement. I have a workaround for that right now, but if either the washer was running or the water softener recharged itself while it was running we got water. Hopefully that is taken care of as of today.

The other annoyance is a squirrel that is trying it’s hardest to slowly drive me insane. I swear, it’s like a horror movie where the mom slowly loses her mind and her family because of it. I feel like I’m living that most days. 😩 It had made it’s way into our attic once, and after we plugged that hole now all day long the damn thing is chewing trying to get another way back in.

We are trying multiple methods of repelling so hopefully one of them sticks.

That’s basically all that is going on in my world right now. Just trying to get the finishing touches on the house…figuring out where to put all of the random stuff we shouldn’t have even brought (thank God for the basement!).

I’m behind on my reading challenge so instead of just focusing on one book at a time, I’m currently reading 7 (seven!) books. If you’re interested, here they are :

  • A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin
  • The Fellowship of the Ring by J. R. R. Tolkien
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling
  • Look At You Now by Liz Pryor
  • Becoming by Michelle Obama
  • Get Out of Your Head by Jennie Allen
  • The Other Mrs by Mary Ku Bica

How is everything with you? What are you reading today? Let me know in the comments. ⤵️
