Hi friends! Below you’ll find my thoughts on Firestarter – the latest book I’ve finished for the Stephen King Book Club I’m hosting here on the blog.

If you’d like to join in with me, leave a comment! I don’t have a sign up at this point, but I’d love to know that you’re joining me.

Book Club : Firestarter

Firestarter starts with some college kids who really just want to make an extra couple of bucks, and end with complete destruction.

Through no real fault of their own, except being broke, Andy and Vicky are thrown in to a whirlwind of a government experiment.

Thankfully through the process, they find each other. Because what happens next is horrifying.

Imagine having an adorable child, who then starts to light things on fire when she’s upset.

Charlie and Andy are soon on the run from The Shop. In the writing it almost feels like an invisible force against them. Until you continue reading and hear of their awful stories.

They find help in some unlikely places, but in the end it’s not enough to save them from The Shop.

They are both cunning and creative when it comes down to it, and ultimately saves Charlie’s life.

In the end it comes down to whether or not destruction is bad if it saves your life.

Charlie is given one last task from her father, and she succeeds in a mighty way.

This was such a fun book to read. (Sounded weird to say fun.) Of course there are some graphic moments so beware. I don’t think I’lll look at a garbage disposal the same again. ?

What is your favorite moment from Firestarter? Let me know in the comments. ?
