Sermon Notes : Not Dead Yet

  • December 11 is the year end offering date.
  • Leviticus 11:29-37; 44-45
  • God is not finished with me, I’m not dead yet.
  • He’s not teaching them to eat clean, he’s teaching them to be clean.
  • Holy like he is.
  • Think clean. Purging from the past so he can bring them into the land that he has promised them.
  • It’s not about the food, it’s about their faith.
  • It was about their minds, not the menu.
  • Brought from a place
  • I’m not what I’m gonna be, but thank God I’m not where I’m used to be.
  • Bought with a price
  • The lamb that was slain for my sin was perfect and eternal.
  • Not a list, but a lens.
  • Caught in a pattern.
  • We know Jesus brought us out of sin and shame but we still feel shame.
  • We are all caught and conflicted in something.
  • Even thought we are in Christ we are in conflict.
  • Hand me down habits, and hangups.
  • God works in your wilderness, weakness, and waiting.
  • I’m out of Egypt is out of me.
  • Taught through a process
  • Not to limit, but to liberate.
  • God is teaching us to think how he thinks.
  • Discernment so we don’t think and do like they do.
  • To have confidence is God’s promise but not commitment to his process, that’s denial not dependence on God.
  • God is not waiting on you to act better for him to love you.
  • But we don’t love him like we should.
  • Is this good for me?
  • He did it big.
  • God is a show off so we give him the glory and praise.
  • Let’s also praise him for the little things.
  • The devil is loud but he’s little.
  • God is the God of dramatic and also the God of the details.
  • Teach me Lord what to do with the weasels.
  • It’s the little things in your life that you remember as great moments.
  • The weasels try to keep you from worshiping God.
  • God still has big things for me.
  • The seed of God’s potential lives in me.
  • If I’m not dead, God’s not done.
  • Have you ever had something die on you, (a dream, idea, opportunity, body starts to fail…)
  • Will you let what died on you keep you from moving forward from what God put in you?
  • The seed is bigger than the weasel.
  • The best me is yet to be because the seed is incorruptible.
