Hi friends! Today’s book thoughts are for Third Wheel by Nick Spalding.

*Disclaimer : I received a copy of this ebook for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Third Wheel tells the story of Jake and Sy. Two best friends who work and live together. Their job sounds pretty cool, they try out experiences, and film them for their popular video channel. Fat Batman was my personal favorite.

The dynamic of the group changes when Sy determines that they need a woman to help change their completely skewed demographics. He thinks adding a female to the team will drive up their audience, and their income.

What wasn’t anticipated was that Sy would fall in love with Helena, and Jake would come completely unglued in the process. From sabotage to total bitterness, he really lets his feelings take over.

I think we’ve all been there, right? As we get older, relationships change and we can become very insular to try and keep that time special and preserved. And this can lead to excluding others, or God forbid, them excluding us.

I really loved how this story seemed to hit the nail on the head when it came to expressing those feelings (in sometimes hilarious fashion). I’m glad how the story wound up, and I truly enjoyed reading Third Wheel.

4 Stars from me.
