Hi friends! I’m back with another book review today, this time for The Guilty Couple C.L. Taylor.

*Disclaimer : I received a copy of this ebook for free from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

The Guilty Couple tells the story of how Olivia ended up serving time for a crime that she did not commit. We are led through a cast of characters that were all involved in one way or another in her life before she went to jail. She’s trying to get her daughter to want to be in her life, so she’s trying to accomplish a lot on a very tight timeline. (The reasons become clear, but I’m keeping this spoiler free!)

I enjoyed this book because the plot kept it moving quickly. The story line was engaging enough to keep me wanting to read. Olivia was an easy character to like, especially when you see what she has been dealt with in her past. I’m glad with how the book ended for her.

I disliked how annoying her husband Dominic is. He seems like such a whiny baby, and his storyline really made me hate him. Some characters you love to hate, but he was just not my favorite. I also wish that some parts of the story had had a little more backstory – Dominic’s for example, even though I hated him I would have liked a little more clarification on his backstory.

Overall, this was a rollercoaster of a book that I really enjoyed. Therefore, I gave it 4 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
