Hello again, friends! I’m finally back with another book review. (Here’s hoping the slump is over.)
Today’s featured book is She by HC Warner.
*Disclaimer : I received a copy of this ebook for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
As always, below you’ll find the description of the book provided by NetGalley, followed by my personal review and star rating.
SHE’s everything he dreamed of, isn’t SHE?
Ben can’t believe his luck when Bella walks into his life, just when he needs her most. Sexy, impulsive and intelligent, Bella is everything he ever wanted. And Bella wants him. All to herself.
In fact, Bella decides that everything is better when it is just the two of them, making it harder for Ben’s friends and family to stay in touch. And then a sudden tragedy triggers a chain of events which throws Ben headlong into a nightmare.
Secrets, lies, vengeance and betrayal are at the heart of this utterly twisted story about a family that is destroyed when SHE becomes part of it…
My Review :
This was one of the darkest books I’ve read in a while, and I have to say that I am here for it!
The story revolves around Ben and Bella, and as the details of their whirlwind romance emerge…it’s clear that people are not always what they seem.
Bella is only with Ben for one reason, and after that reason is no longer in the picture she quite literally falls off the rails.
Bella is conniving, vindictive and manipulative to the point where she is super easy to hate. She isolates her husband from everyone close to him but continues to have secret rendezvous herself.
After a while you get to see her point of view…and it doesn’t do her any favors. Thankfully Ben finds out the truth, and we get a pretty happy ending.
But don’t skip this story – it’s perfect to curl up with a hot cup of coffee and your pet.
I loved this one and would definitely recommend.
