How I Bust Out Of A Reading Slump

Hi friend! Today I’m going to tell you my very simple tips on how I get out of a reading slump.

This actually is very relevant to me in this moment, because I’m using this strategy myself. (Thankfully, it’s working!)

My first tip for you is this : when you are having a difficult time just opening a book…go back to the books that you have previously loved. I am a huge re-reader of books. Like, huge. I had books as a child that I would literally read until the pages fell out.

And that is no different today. Personally, when I am struggling to finish a book, my immediate go to’s are the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin (you can find here on Amazon : this is an affiliate link), and the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. (Can be found here on Amazon, and also an affiliate link.)

I’ve read both of the series so many times that each time I feel like I’m catching up with old friends.

Another tip I’ve got for you is to try a new genre if you’re stuck. Tend to stick to personal development and non fiction? Try a fun fiction novel. Consistently reading mysteries and thrillers? Maybe try a romance or humor story to fill you up.

These are my tips to you, and I hope that they can maybe help you out.

Let me know in the comments which books bring you out of a reading slump.
